Personal Trainer Mission Statement
Fitness practitioners registered
with the FSC will have a mission statement that includes his
or her general direction and is supported by specific, clearly
defined objectives:
- I will continue to uphold the
quality standards and guidelines of the FSC, and I will not voluntarily
associate professionally with anyone who violates the standards
and ethics as outlined by the FSC.
- I will remain objective in my
thoughts by having an active mind, not an opened or closed mind,
thereby refusing to accept on the basis of blind faith and denying
sterile knowledge based on false beliefs.
- I will remain an independent
thinker by reviewing and weighing any evidence and proof, and
establish my own conclusions.
I will reason and not rationalize my actions.
- I will be fully accountable
in regard to any exercise and nutrition prescription, to discover
and know 'why' behind every recommendation I make and to the
best of my ability.
- I will be responsible for my
actions, placing the onus upon myself for both successes and
failures and learning from those failures in order to enhance
my knowledge as an elite fitness practitioner and healthcare
provider within the industry.
- I will optimize my clients'
programs relative to their goals, needs, and abilities while
doing so in a safe manner and in a safe environment; I will refrain
from standardized, generalized, and 'canned' programs to avoid
the 'easy way out.'
- I will continue my education
through reliable sources of information that will enhance my
knowledge and ability to reason.
- I will follow the FSC Code of
Ethics.
