Fitness Facility Mission Statement
Fitness facilities registered
with the FSC will have a mission statement that includes its
general direction and is supported by specific, clearly defined
objectives. Its owner(s) and employee(s) will:
Uphold the quality standards
and guidelines of the FSC and not voluntarily associate professionally
with anyone who violates the standards and ethics as outlined
by the FSC.
Remain objective in thought by
having an active mind, not an opened or closed mind, thereby
refusing to accept on the basis of blind faith and denying sterile
knowledge based on false beliefs.
Remain uncoerced by reviewing
and weighing any evidence and proof in order to establish factual
conclusions in any business dealings and promotion of fitness.
Reason and not rationalize all
actions.
Be fully accountable in regard
to any exercise and nutrition prescription recommended, to discover
and know 'why' behind every recommendation made whenever possible.
Be responsible for all actions,
thus placing the onus upon the owners and employees for both
successes and failures and learning from those failures in order
to enhance knowledge among the facility's employees and as a
healthcare service provider within the industry.
Optimize clients' programs relative
to their goals, needs, and abilities while doing so in a safe
manner and in a safe environment; We will refrain from standardized,
generalized, and 'canned' programs to avoid the 'easy way out.'
Continue employee my education
through reliable sources of information that will enhance knowledge
and the ability to reason.
Follow the FSC Code of Ethics
and established standards.
